Desde hace diez años el hardcore metálico renace. Al principio con bandas como Rise And Fall, Trap Them, Cursed y Pulling Teeth. A diferencia del hardcore noventero, este incluye velocidad y se diferencia de la vieja escuela cuando incorporan mensajes anti-religiosos de finales del siglo XX.
